Bellport Beach Property Owners Association History

The Bellport Beach Property Owners Association, Incorporated was certified on November 9, 1951. The deeds at the time stated that a section of the beach would be given to the residents and they were to form an Association. The beach is located at the end of Woods Acres Road and Bay Road on 2.6 acres of land.

The boundaries of the Association are the homes located south of South Country Road, from Melrose Parkway (West), and Cedar Lane (East). Cedar Lane, while no longer in use, was a dirt road used by farmers.

Many of the original homes were built by families to be used on weekends and as summer homes. Years later, heat was added and they became year round residents.

Today, there are approximately 310 homes in the estates. Members have access to the private beach, dock, gazebo (that can be rented for parties), port-a-lav, kids play area, with barbecues and picnic tables.

The Association continues to welcome change and increase community activity.

The Association has been lead by the board with Don Teague as President. Don has received awards from community leaders in response to his never ending committment to making the BBPOA a better organization helping in the community. See Awards
